Bio Art and Distributed Agency

Bio art as research, as commentary or reflection, as spectacle and fetish. Science activism, the community lab and library, research in the social sphere. What is the role of biology in art, and science in society? Using examples from the history of biologically-related or inspired art, an argument will be given for the relevance of such work and how it can function. Part artist talk, part history, part scientific analysis and advocacy, Bio Art and Distributed Agency will explore the parasitic and transdisciplinary to find new ways of conceiving knowledge.
